Low Testosterone – Symptoms of Hypogonadism

Low Testosterone (male hypogonadism), a disorder in which the male reproductive organs fail to produce enough testosterone (the male sex hormone), can occur in one or both testes. In males, testosterone helps to maintain and develop: male sexual characteristics. Muscle mass, sperm production, reproductive ability. Poor quality of red blood cells, decreased muscle mass, erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, and low energy levels are typical symptoms.

This condition can lead to diminished libido, impaired energy levels, erectile dysfunction, and poor quality of sexual intercourse. Low Testosterone also causes testicular shrinkage and impotence. Testosterone helps the body produce the following sex hormones: estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. These hormones help men maintain a normal level of sex drive and activity, as well as enable them to have normal sex and reproduction.

Symptoms of low testosterone are usually difficult to detect. Most males will experience some or all of the symptoms discussed above, but the levels may not be low enough to cause male sexual dysfunction or impotence. As mentioned, symptoms can be subtle. Thus it is important that males be aware that they may experience symptoms such as weak erections, problems with conception, inability to achieve orgasm, decreased libido, decreased sex drive and increased body fat.

Testosterone replacement therapy is the most common method used for treating hypogonadism. It involves taking hormone supplements that help to correct the reduced levels of testosterone. The supplements help to restore levels to normal by reversing the process by which testosterone is converted into free testosterone and estrogen. This allows testosterone to function normally.

If you have had symptoms for several years, it is probably time to consider trying testosterone therapy. You may discover that your symptoms improve drastically after your first dose of treatment. It is important to note that natural testosterone replacement methods do not work for every person with hypogonadism. Also, because low levels of testosterone can affect the functioning of other hormones in the body, not all natural methods are effective.

The primary benefit of testosterone therapy is an increase in muscle mass and increased energy levels. Increased muscle mass improves your ability to engage in physical activities. Increased energy also allows you to do more physical activities, which can lead to weight loss. Finally, improved muscle mass can help you avoid injuries, which can further decrease your health risks. As you can see, your improved sex life and decreased risk of osteoporosis can be within reach with this all natural alternative.

Low Testosterone is a troubling condition that affects millions of men in the United States. Though women have small levels, Testosterone is an all-encompassing sex hormone commonly associated with men. When a man has a low level of Testosterone, the consequences can include decreased sex drive, erectile dysfunction, decreased bone density and muscle mass. Testosterone plays an integral part in a man’s sexuality. In fact, it is estimated that as much as 80 percent of the sexual activity in men is centered around their ability to produce and secrete testosterone.

While the exact cause of low testosterone is unknown, most researchers agree that it is related to decreased levels of Leutinizing Hormone (LH), which is naturally found in the testicles. In men, LH helps produce sperm and triggers puberty. As men age, the production of LH decreases, which in turn prevents the production of sperm. Sperm production is crucial in determining male fertility. As sperm production decreases, fertility decreases as well.

Low Testosterone and other symptoms related to this hormone can have a number of causes. One common cause of low testosterone is age. As men age, they produce less testosterone and therefore experience decreased sexual desire and performance. As a result, symptoms of low testosterone may occur in older men who are approaching menopause. As men approach midlife, testosterone production also begins to decline, which can lead to similar conditions as those that occur in older men.

Other causes of low testosterone may include drugs, infections, hormonal imbalances and tumors. Because low testosterone can affect the production of sperm, certain medical conditions can interfere with fertility and contribute to low testosterone symptoms. If you are experiencing symptoms of low testosterone, a doctor will typically consider any potential medical conditions to rule out them before treating the problem. Common conditions that can interfere with fertility include hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia, menopause, and liver disease.

The symptoms of low testosterone often mimic those of vitamin D deficiency or other diseases and illnesses that affect the red blood cell production and metabolism. Blood tests will typically look for high calcium levels and low levels of retinol. High levels of retinol and calcium are associated with increased red blood cell production and a reduced risk of bone disease as men age. Symptoms of low testosterone can also mirror the signs of vitamin D deficiency and bone disease.

Low testosterone therapy can be an effective way to treat low testosterone levels. When doctors like primemensmedical.com prescribe testosterone therapy, they treat the condition of the hormone rather than the symptom. If testosterone therapy is used to treat symptoms of low testosterone levels, the side effects will only be the decrease in sexual desire and the decreased muscle mass. As with any medical treatment, hormone therapy should not be used to treat a disease or illness without careful consideration of the side effects. Hormone therapy should only be used as a temporary measure to correct the underlying problem.
